In the Libraries
Both the McNichols Campus Library and the Dental Library have public workstations for Internet access; the workstations also have Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point.
As of September 2007, the following equipment is available:
- McNichols Campus Library: 53 Internet and Microsoft Office workstations; 2 digital scanners
- Dental Library: 18 Internet and Microsoft Office workstations located in a computer lab inside the library; 1 digital scanner
The workstations give full access to the library catalog, to a wide variety of full text and abstract databases covering all disciplines, various reference databases and online reference books, and to weekly newsfeeds by discipline. For information on the databases available, go to the Articles, Databases & Journals tab on the library homepage (http://research.udmercy.edu), or link from any of the discipline pages.
UDM's proxy server facilitates off-campus access to electronic resources for faculty, staff, and registered UDM students. When prompted for an ID number, enter your T number, begin with T0 then enter your 7 digit student number, which appears on all of your registration materials and is used for initial access to courses in Blackboard. University personnel will need to enter their employee T number.
The barcode number on each individual's UDM ID card (located below the photograph) will NOT be used for database access, only for borrowing materials from the libraries. To borrow materials it is still necessary to validate the UDM ID by going to one of the UDM libraries or contacting email@example.com for further information.
