American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA)

The American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) is a national labor union representing nearly 80,000 performers, journalists and other artists working in the entertainment and news media. AFTRA's scope of representation covers broadcast, public and cable television (news, sports and weather; drama and comedy, soaps, talk and variety shows, documentaries, children’s programming, reality and game shows); radio (news, commercials, hosted programs); sound recordings (CDs, singles, Broadway cast albums, audio books); "non-broadcast" and industrial material as well as Internet and digital programming.

Educational Theatre Association

Institute of Outdoor Drama

Description: Established in 1963, The Institute of Outdoor Drama is the only organization in the U.S. providing national leadership in fostering artistic and managerial excellence and expansion of the outdoor drama movement through training, research and advisory programs, and serves as a national clearinghouse for more than 120 constituent theatres companies across the nation. League of Historic American Theatres (LHAT)

Description: The League of Historic American Theatres (LHAT) is an international not-for-profit membership association. LHAT is a network of people who appreciate the cultural and architectural heritage of historic theatres and who work locally and nationally to rehabilitate them to serve communities throughout North America and abroad. Members of the League include theatre operators and managers, preservation activists, architects, structural engineers, design and acoustical consultants, urban planners, restorationists, vendors, booking and artist management firms, fund raising consultants, and many other types of service providers and members of the general public who serve or are interested in historic theatres. League of Off-Broadway Theatres and Producers

The League was founded in 1959 to foster theatrical productions produced in Off-Broadway theatres, to assist in the voluntary exchange of information among its members, and to serve as the collective voice of its membership in pursuit of these goals. Member benefits (where applicable) include: Representation at the negotiation table for collective bargaining agreements with Actors' Equity Association, The Association of Theatrical Press Agents and Managers, and The Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers. Support at grievance proceedings under those agreements, as well as information and guidance regarding the history of the agreements and past industry practices. Shared information at membership meetings with regard to our members' experiences and concerns, and trends within the industry. Promotional display racks for flyers and brochures are provided to member theatres which producers (member or non-member) may use to advertise their shows to Off-Broadway audiences. These racks are maintained by the League, free of charge to member theatres, in cooperation with the Theater Development Fund. Automatic registration for Lortel Awards, assuming other eligibility requirements are met. The League is active in developing ideas for the creative marketing of Off-Broadway, which in past years has included such projects as the Lucille Lortel Awards, recognizing excellence on Off-Broadway stages, and in conjunction with TDF, sponsorship of ART/NY's Passport to Off-Broadway.

Producers Guild Of America
