Communication Studies (SAGE Full Text Collection)

Communication Studies: A SAGE Full-Text Collection includes the full-text of 19 journals published by SAGE and participating societies, some journals going back to 1982. It covers such subjects as Journalism, Public Opinion, Political Communication, Mass Communication, Interpersonal Communication, Cultural Studies / Intercultural Communication, Television / Film Studies, Media Studies, Business Communication, Organizational / Management Communication, Written Communication, Rhetoric, and Literacy Studies.

The searchable database consists of bibliographic records (indexed summaries or abstracts) as well as the complete text of each journal article. Every bibliographic record in the Collection links to the appropriate full-text in PDF format.

General OneFile includes more than 6,300 full-text titles, 400 major newspapers -- a total of nearly 11,000 titles in all with more than 20 years of backfile coverage from 1980 to present for selected titles. The database contains more than 87 million records including wire services covering agriculture, general news, broadcast news, government, business press releases, industry topics, sports and current events; indexing of The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times and Christian Science Monitor; and general interest magazines, refereed academic journals, business publications, technology periodicals, and specialty titles in law, health care and computers.

A collection of over 1800 newspapers and newswires from around the country and the world. Included are the Detroit Free Press (March 28, 2000-July 30, 2008), Times (London) 1985-date and the Christian Science Monitor 1996-date. The database contains over 27 million articles.

Full text of over 1,200 core academic journals in most disciplines. Coverage starts with the first issue published, and continues, ending 3-5 years before the current year. An additional year of journals published is added annually. The Libraries own current paper issues of many titles in the collections. LexisNexis Acvademic is an interdisciplinary, full-text database of over 18,000 sources including newspapers, journals, wire services, newsletters, company reports and SEC filings, case law, government documents, transcripts of broadcasts, and selected reference works.

The Online Library of Liberty

The Liberty Fund is "...a private, educational foundation established to encourage the study of the ideal of a society of free and responsible individuals. The Foundation develops, supervises, and finances its own educational activities to foster thought and encourage discourse on enduring intellectual issues pertaining to liberty"[ from the website]  

The Online Library provides electronic access to hundreds of primary source documents in history, political thought, law, and philosophy. A searchable database assits in locating materials. 

The Liberty Fund advocates a free society and individual responsibilty.  The Fund does publish book, however the materials on the website are available without charge.

Political Science (SAGE Full Text Collection)

 Political Science: A SAGE Full-Text Collection includes the full-text of 29 journals published by SAGE and participating societies, some journals going back 25 years, encompassing over 10,000 articles. It covers such subjects as General Political Science, American Government & Politics, Political Sociology, Comparative Politics, Policy Studies, Political Communication, Peace / Conflict Studies, Presidential Studies, Political Theory / Philosophy, International Relations, and Area Studies.

Other journals not in the collection, but published by Sage, can be selected and searched along with the Political Science titles.

Wiley Online Library

The Wiley Online Library includes all electronic book and journal publications from Wiley. Journals formerly in the Blackwell Synergy collection are now included in the Wiley Online Library. Full text is available for these journals from at least 2001 (except for new journals) and coverage for some goes back to the 1970s. Volumes available through UDM are preceded by an open padlock icon.
