Upon Joseph A. Moynihan, Judge of the Third Judicial Circuit of Michigan, graduate in law of our sister institution, the Detroit College of Law, in this the twenty-fifth year of the practice of his profession and the twelfth of his judicial activity, for that he has set a high standard of magisterial probity in his public career and of human sympathy in his private life, and has merited by his soundness of view and integrity of purpose the respect and admiration of the members of his profession, I by the authority in me vested as President of the University of Detroit, confer for the sake of honor, the degree of Doctor of Laws, and I enroll him with pride on the list of those who have received this honor.
