Priest and distinguished member of the Congregation of St. Paul, Licentiate in Sacred Theology of the Catholic University of America, editor, author and lecturer, keen observer of passing events and shrewd commentator on their significance, who during eighteen years in the editorship of the leading American Catholic monthly, and thirty years of lecturing on the platform and by radio, has ever shown himself a vigilant guardian of civil and religious liberty, a zealous apostle of Catholic ideals and a constant advocate of a sound, wholesome and helpful philosophy of life. Is recommended for the degree of Doctor of Letters, honoris causa, and a place on the roll of those whom the University of Detroit has singled out for special recognition.
