When you see the first few robins in
the spring you lick your thumb on your right hand,
put it on the palm of your left hand for a second,
and then stamp your palm where your thumb was with
your left fist. This is supposed to bring you
good luck for the rest of the year.

When you find a wooly caterpillar in the
summer you should always pick it up and look
at it because it will foretell the weather
that coming winter. There is a black band
around its middle. If the band is pretty
small there will be a mild winter. But the
larger the band the more harsh and the longer
the winter will be.

know if there was any biological truth to this.
