CHICKENS USUALLY PECK AT THE WATER AND THEN LOWER THEIR HEADS BACK
TO SWALLOW, BUT THE REAL REASON THAT THEY PUT THEIR HEADS BACK IS
BECAUSE THEY ARE THANKING GOD.

TALKING ANIMALS

IF YOU GO INTO THE BARN ON CHRISTMAS EVE YOU WILL FIND THAT THE
ANIMALS CAN TALK, BUT IT WOULD HAVE TO BE AT MIDNIGHT.

JACK IN THE PULPIT (INDIAN TURNIP)

IT WAS CALLED JUG WOMAN'S BABY BY THE PENOBSCOT INDIANS
AND REGARDED AS POISONOUS. THE INNER SEED, DROPPED INTO
A CUP OF WATER, WOULD FLOAT FOUR TIMES CLOCKWISE
AROUND THE CUP AS A SIGN THE PATIENT WOULD GET WELL;
IF IT SANK BEFORE THE FOURTH ROUND, HE WOULD DIE.
