ITE is an international educational and scientific organization of professionals who design, implement and maintain surface transportation systems. ITE's website includes information about transportation careers, free job postings, scholarship and fellowship applications, and information on Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification.
The site also provides case studies and reports on traffic calming, information on how to conduct road safety audits, full-text articles and resources on ethics, information on federal transportation legislation and policies, online discussion groups, and a calendar of events and meetings.

The Transportation Research Board (TRB) is a division of the National Research Council charged with promoting research, innovation and communication to advance transportation. The TRB website includes

An agency of the U.S. Department of Transportation, the FHWA is responsible for the safety and quality of the nation's roads and highways. The NHI is a training section of the Federal Highway Administration. The NHI offers courses covering pavements and materials, design and traffic operations, intelligent transportation systems, highway safety, and other related topics. All course materials are available online, and a few courses are offered entirely online. The website also includes tools for developing the transportation workforce and information and applications for over 2,000 transportation-related fellowships and grants.
