Celebration of Scholarly Achievement

The 2012-2013 Celebration of Scholarly Achievement will be held Tuesday April 17, 2012 in the Student Center Ballroom.

The University of Detroit Mercy celebrates and honors the scholarly achievements of all its students, faculty, staff, and administration. Two of the ways the University celebrates the achevievements of its community are the Research@UDM newsletter and the annual Celebration of Scholarly Achivement.

The Research@UDM newsletter, published online once a semester, highlights the scholarship and scholarly achivements of the University's faculty community. In addition to brief articles describing awards, grants, and other scholarly achivements of UDM's faculty, each issue includes a list recent of publications by UDM faculty.

The Celebration of Scholarly Achivement is a combination of what where previously two annual events -- the Celebration of Faculty Authors, which was started in 2005, and the Faculty & Student Research Symposium and Poster Fair, which began in 2006. This event highlights the scholarly achievements of both students and faculty.

Members of the UDM community can submit publications, presentations, and other scholarly achivements to both the Celebration of Scholarly Achivement and Research@UDM newsletter by clicking the SUBMIT AN ACHIVEMENT button on this page. The Celebration of Scholarly Achivement accepts poster presentations, electronic presentations, and non-print projects (e.g., documentary, costume, or other 3-d non print media projects) from both faculty and students. The Celebration of Scholarly Achivement and Research@UDM newsletter both accept faculty publications, either in print or electronic format, including refereed journal articles, books, book chapters and conference proceedings.
