Special Needs Patron Services

Patrons with special needs are provided personal assistance from library personnel at any service point within each of the libraries. All patrons who use the libraries should expect equal access to the resources and the individual attention provided will assist special needs patrons to be successful in their research endeavors.

McNichols Campus Library

  • Disable parking available on east side of library
  • Wheelchair access ramp on the east side of the front entrance
  • Button-activated electronic door at 3rd door mfrom east end of front entrance
  • Elevator access to each public reading and stack floors
  • Wheelchair-accessible restroom in the Lower Level 
  • Use of reference desk phone for on-campus phone call
  • Wheelchair-accessible tables in reference area, first floor, and Bargman Room, second floor
  • Wheelchair-accessible table with research computer; large screen monitor
  • Database searching assistance
  • Photocopying assistance
  • Book, journal, and media retrieval 
  • Wheelchair-accessible section at Check Out & Customer Service Desk for checking out materials


Dental Library

  • Disable parking available in parking lot
  • Wheelchair-accessible restroom 1st and 2nd levels
  • Use of reference desk phone for on-campus phone call
  • Wheelchair-accessible tables in reference area
